Sunday Inspiration: Leanne Woodfull

Usually when I do an inspiration post, it  is fashion related. It's either admiration for a fantastic wardrobe, way beyond any means of my own or just great natural style, that is effortless. However my inspiration tonight is for a girl who has of course an envious sense of style but also an openness, that I have rarely seen before.

As I am sure most other bloggers do, I spend quite a lot of time checking out blogs, lookbook, vlogs and all the fashion websites. I subscribe on facebook to many personal fashion pages, sometimes reluctantly, knowing I am about to receive a new notification ever 5mins on something I "NEED" to see.
It has gotten to the point where I have had to hide certain pages to avoid throwing my phone across the room, at the beep of another new post. However there are a select view I love to see pop up, and I click on the link straight away, to see whats new.

One such blogger is Leanne Woodfull from Thunder + Threads. Her retro style fused with grungy 90's influence (my own opinion) is definitely one I take time to read. She does some great beauty posts, which are much appreciated, because as much as I love fashion I fall short when it comes to the beauty side of things.

She does fashion, beauty and personal vlogs on youtube where she lets you into her world. She is not afraid to admit any fears she has and openly shares all her thoughts and feelings. This is amazingly brave of her ! I could never attempt to do a vlog, there is something so secure about being able to hide behind a blog post.

I have just finished watching her latest post, where she will be getting surgery for an underbite. Watching the video I was so moved by how open she was about her experience and impressed at her willingness to share her experience, in order to help others, who may be suffering like her.

Back in June of last year, when I first discovered her blog, I asked Leanne to answer a few questions for me. I never posted these because I got caught up in my move back to Europe from Australia, and as we know I am very neglectful of this little blog!

However I thought I would post them now, so you can find out a little more information on Leanne before you go check out her blog, if you haven't already.

As I said I don't always read the posts of other bloggers, just look at the pictures, as they say. However, Leanne is someone who keeps it real and incredibly stylish at the same time.So to finish up I would like to wish Leanne all the best with her surgery and afterwards. I am looking forward to all her future blog posts.

1. Firstly, tell us more about you and your blog? Who are you and where do you come from?

I'm Leanne Woodfull, from Dublin, Ireland. I started my blog THUNDER + THREADS in 2009, and now run a popular Youtube channel in conjunction with it.

2. When did you start blogging and why?

I started blogging in 2009, after reading an article in a magazine about the rise of bloggers. I felt I had a lot to express with regards to fashion, and loved the idea of showing the world my style and inspirations. Over the last few years, my blog has turned into a fashion and beauty blog though, as my interest in makeup has grown massively!

3. What is your fashion "can't live without" piece in your wardrobe?

My Topshop leather jacket, I over-wear it to death but it goes with everything and anything!

4. Have you always had an interest in fashion?

Yes, definitely. I used to play dress-up in my Nana's house as a toddler, and have collected magazines since I was quote young also. It's always amazed me.

5. What inspires you?

Japanese street style, Old Hollywood, people watching, art, nature, books, film.. everything!

6. What is your favourite topic to blog about?

I love writing outfit posts, showcasing my own person style and reading the feedback I get from it!

7. What is the future for Thunder + Threads?
Hopefully it grows bigger and bigger, in the future I hope to open an online store and expand the blog to a website. Watch this space!
